I thought I'd dip my toe in the water this year and throw my hat into the ring for this year's Roger Thong competition, with a follow up (of sorts) to the Strange Worlds movie I did for the Weekly Look Short Film contest.
Dr Foster Gloucester returns with the sordid tale of the Beast of Eastbourne, featuring the vocal talents of Ken, Monk, Chris and Mac (and my bad regional accents to boot :)). Fun putting it together as the last "minor movie" before work starts full tilt on Odyssey Season Two.
Hopefully, it'll be out sometime this week...
General wibbling, thoughts, opinions and production stuff for my 3d amateur animation projects.

The Roger and Ken Show 9 May 2010
The Old Git and I will be on air tonight, discussing Conquest: Blackstar Rising (amongst other stuff, as we usually do, no doubt ;)) at the usual place.
In the first guest lot, our pal Uber will be on, so it's a sci-fi special tonight :)
How the process of "long distance collaboration" worked; the making of the movie, and all the usual associated chatter.
So, come along and join the fun :)

Conquest: Blackstar Rising
Thanks to all those who made the premiere last night; hopefully a good time was had by all.
DL did a good job with the stream; very little in the way of problems for such a long movie.
The download link is available from the Production Thread on TMU; due to the size, I'm having to send the movie to hosting as two seperate files (the full movie won't convert to enable embedding).
It is available on BlipTV at the moment, but isn't embeddable; once I have the two pieces uploaded, I'll post them to TMU.
EDIT: Thanks to Ken, it's now available on TMU for your viewing pleasure!

4 months in the making and last night Conquest: Blackstar Rising was finally rendered!
A mammoth task, fraught with difficulties (not least both K4 and I developing ear infections at roughly the same time, and me injuring my elbow and having to struggle with a sling for 2 weeks right in the middle of the project) but it came out rather well; all that's left to do now is for The Daddy to sign off on the finished product and sort out a premiere date.
All of which means I can now turn my attentions back to Odyssey Season Two and start work on that at last; sheesh, is there no end to it all? :P

Been so busy IRL and with putting BSR together I haven't posted a lot recently (well, at all here, anyway :))
Visual work well underway; two scenes rendered for sound editing which have winged (wung?) their merry way off to K4 for him to work his magic (or at least they will once he's recovered from the galloping lurgy he's currently suffering; must be awful being that ancient and having a cold :P)
So, work continuing apace on this; am pretty much waiting for the principal cast to get their lines in now before continuing, so I can structure the other scenes based off their performances.
And then Odyssey Season Two to start, Eldritch to finish... and who knows what else is on the cards?
Laters, phantom reader dudes!

Captain's Blog 16.01.10
Well, it's 2010 and I suppose I'd better make an effort to update this, being as it's well into the new decade now! :)
So, Odyssey Season One is complete and put to bed; glad the series seemed to be well received (which is just as well with 3 more years of scripts to complete the story!!).
ConQuest (I ought to stop writing it that way; it gives me bad memories of SeaQuest... shudder...) Blackstar Rising on the desk and underway; about 1/3 to 1/2 way through it on the initial run (trying to keep it under control or it'll end up being well over an hour long otherwise!!), my first foray into the Conquest universe. Quite excited by this, as it's an area of the CQ universe K4's quite wired about (which also means the Old Git will be going over this with a fine toothed comb, so it's gotta be right!)
Kinda wierd writing for someone else's universe; with Odyssey (being mine) I can write what the hell I want and damn the torpedoes, but with this I much narrower field to play in. K4's really flexible when it comes to adding stuff, but with more CQ coming out (currently, there's only the Enigma Season Two episode, Artifact and Beginnings as full-length (or episode length)), there's going to be less room for maneuver.
Still, it's a script I've wanted to do for some time, showing a distinctly darker edge to the upto now mostly clean CQ universe (with the exception of Artifact to a certain degree). It's slated to fit into the "next generation" timeframe of CQ, towards the end of the Coalition and the momentous events that will be making an appearance on your screens later this year or early next year in a sneaky way (stay tuned for that when it blasts onto your screens; it'll be a doozy!); backstabbing, political manuevering, treachery, sneakiness and some dark actions by the eponymous "heroes" of the piece, I'm looking forward to getting this done.
But, of course, it'll mean getting the damned script finished first! I'd better get back to it, or I'll end up like K4 ;)
Toodle pipski (as a certain Arnold Rimmer would say...); til the next time...

Captain's Blog 30.12.2009
In what will probably be my last blog of 2009, as I type this, Episode Seven is slowly rendering itself in the background. A year of seven scripts, seven episodes, multitudes of exceptionally talented people, some wonderful friends made, some great movies I've been privileged to be a small part of, and a fantastic time had in the process!
I'm hoping to get Episode Seven premiered (hopefully on New Year's Day) on TMUTheatre (if I can get it rendered and uploaded in time!), so watch this space for an update!
There have been so many fantastic folk who have leant their talent to the production of Season One of Odyssey this past year, that I wanted to reiterate my profound thanks to them all. So, without any further ado… (takes huge breath…)
Episode One
Chris62, JohnnyEx, K4 and Ken
Episode Two
Allpoint, Dulci, Biggstrek and Uber
Episode Three
Acemaster, Bella, Roger, Nahton, Norrie and WX_IVAN
Episode Four
Act3Scene24 and Kwistufa
Episode Five
Dulci (again), K4 (again), The Artist Formerly Known As Tfoster (;)) and WX_IVAN (again)
Episode Six
Afterthought, Anim8tor Cathy, Chris62 (again), Bella (again), BlazeLee Dragon, Jase180, JetCity Woman, JohnnyEx (again), Ken (again) and Mustachio26
Episode Seven
Bella (again), BlazeLee Dragon (again), Jase180 (again), Nahton (again) and Uber (again).
And, of course, super kudos to my delightful regular cast: -
Goofparade, Sisch, JosephKW, Kwistufa, thebiz, Lanna and Marine101; thank you for your hard work and dedication to the ideal!
Modding as always provided by a plethora of talented people, including (but not limited to): -
Alshten, Biggstrek, Budbundysmullet, BusStopWilly, Dr House, Evolchild, Fraas Movies, Frenhofer, Gunsnroses562, Guppi, Jabhabsoul, Jess Franco, Kwistufa (…again!), MikeDeBoing, Malak, Rik Vargard, Rileyman (especially for the mod utilities, without which I would have screamed and jumped off something high a long time ago), Rysto, Sexymaria, Skelch, Stvndysn, Tarison, The Punisher and last (but my no means least) Mr Ubernewbie himself.
Without these guys desire to expand the limitations of Lionhead’s engine and provide quality mods for the community, Odyssey would not have been possible.
Special thanks go to (in no particular order) Kwistufa, Norrie, Dulci, Uber, Allpoint, Animatechnica, Warlord, Wolf, Chris62, JohnnyEx, Sisch and the ubiquitous K4 (Who's Your Daddy?!?) and (of course) Ken and Roger, for their offerings of roles, putting up with me whittering on for hours on end and just plain comradeship in the last 12 months; thanks, guys!
And last, but by no means least, thanks to everyone who has watched Odyssey this year; I hope you enjoyed watching it as much as I enjoyed writing and making it!
Thank you all, and see you all next year for Season Two!

Teaser One for Episode Seven; not brilliant but something to be going on with!
Been so busy with work and other stuff I've hardly got a chance to scratch me own bum right now machinima wise, but hoping to actually get some time over the festive season to kick back and check out some stuff at last!
Catch you all soon, peoples!

Yes, it's out at last; the penultimate episode of Season One is released. A Leyland focussed arc episode, this is the first of a "not quite but pretty much" trilogy of episodes, taking us into the second season and setting things up for the ongoing season.
File download link is here. Enjoy! There are some audio glitches (the volume levels go out of whack in a coupla places, which is very annoying as I adjusted them all individually before I exported the complete movie... I think it's time to bin my patched-up sound card and invest in a new one finally ;))
One more to go... hopefully, I'll have this out by the end of the year. Then, into scripting Blackstar and playing with iClone 4 (potentially for Season Two... if I can transpose all the required costumes and props across and make a set of characters that look like the principals!).
UPDATE: Oh my lord; dunno how it happened, but Episode Six has clocked up 171 views in a little less than 48 hours!
